Marketing Cash Will Make A Splash

The Challenge is set to grow in 2023

On Saturday 26 November 2022, the Minister for Hospitality and Events, Nic Street, announced the successful applicants of the Events Marketing Tasmania Grants Program for 2023. We are delighted that the Freycinet Challenge is one of 27 Tasmania events to receive a grant.

The program assists events extend their existing marketing strategy, with an aim to increase intrastate and interstate visitation. Increased visitation helps fill the world-class restaurants, cafes and accommodation, stimulating economic activity and creating jobs in small businesses across Tasmania.

The Freycinet Challenge is one of many iconic events in Tasmania that shine a light on the State's vibrant events sector. "We are thrilled to see our event alongside so many of Tassie's top events that really do showcase so many things Tasmania has to offer" said Race Director, Mark Howell.

"One of our aims to grow the Freycinet Challenge is to attract interstate athletes and this grants program aligned perfectly with our future marketing strategy", Mark said.

"Bringing in more athletes to our event will broaden the field in every category of the race, which will ultimately make the Challenge more exciting for the athletes and spectators. We know that the visiting athletes will bring at least one other person and they'll explore Tasmania while they're here", Mark said.

With the support of this grant, the Freycinet Challenge will be launching an Australia-wide marketing campaign early in 2023 and entries for the next event will open at the same time.
